Boxing and kickboxing that fit real life, not just fight nights.
The MAW Studios exists so real people in Hackney Wick can train with purpose, not pressure. Every class blends clear coaching, mental focus and community, so boxing and kickboxing become a steady part of your week — not something you have to psych yourself up for.
Our vision is to make safe, technical boxing and kickboxing part of everyday wellness in Hackney Wick. Parents, professionals and beginners share the same floor, move at their own pace, and leave feeling calmer, sharper and more at home in their bodies.
Most people send one WhatsApp question, book a Free Trial, then move into a short intro offer if it feels like the right fit.
A calm boxing studio for real people, not fighters only.
The MAW Studios is a small, independent boxing and kickboxing studio in Hackney Wick. You train in small groups, learn real technique and move at a pace that fits around work, family and headspace.
Sessions are structured, calm and ego-free. We keep numbers low, explain things clearly and repeat patterns so nothing feels chaotic or confusing. Most people arrive nervous or busy — and stay because training feels safe, predictable and genuinely useful.
Safe, kind coaching.
No shouting, no macho energy. Just clear, patient coaching that keeps you safe while you learn proper boxing and kickboxing, step by step.
Structure that calms your head.
Classes follow a predictable flow — warm-up, drills, rounds, finish. You always know what’s coming next, which lowers anxiety and helps things click.
A studio where you’re known.
Small groups mean your coach actually sees you, learns how you move and remembers your wins — so progress feels personal, not generic.
Start where you are.
Begin with the class that fits your energy today. Most people start with Boxing or Kickboxing Essentials, then add Kids & Family, Yoga or PT as their routine grows.
Boxing Essentials
Learn real boxing in small, beginner-safe classes with clear, technique-first coaching. Build skill, timing and confidence without feeling rushed, shouted at or judged.
Kickboxing Essentials
Kickboxing that feels powerful, not punishing. Strikes, kicks and conditioning coached with form first, so you build power and cardio at a pace that actually fits your life.
Kids & Family Boxing
Fun, safe padwork and movement for kids and parents on the same floor. Build confidence, coordination and connection while everyone burns off energy in a positive space.
Community Yoga
Gentle, community-focused yoga with Amelia. Move, breathe and reset in a calm space that supports your boxing or kickboxing training and helps you decompress from the week.
Personal Training with Mark
1:1 or 2:1 coaching built fully around your goals, pace and schedule — from learning the basics to sharpening technique or rebuilding after time away from training.
Training that meets you where you’re at.
Total beginner, returning after a break, building fitness, or trying something new — our coaching adapts to you, not the other way round.
Clear cues. Predictable structure. Small groups. No ego. You don’t need to “get fit first” or know what you’re doing — we guide you step by step so you always feel in control.
You’ll always know what’s happening next, what to expect, and how to pace yourself, so you can focus on moving — not overthinking.

I’m new — where should I start?
Start with a Free Trial Class in Boxing or Kickboxing Essentials. Small groups, clear coaching, and we’ll help you choose your next step (2-Week Unlimited Intro, packs, or a simple 2×-per-week membership).
Do I need to be fit already?
No. Most people start while juggling work, family and a busy head. We build your fitness and skill gradually, with options each round so you can go steadier or push harder depending on your day.
What should I bring?
Comfortable kit, water, and indoor-friendly trainers. If you’re new, we have wraps and gloves you can borrow — and we’ll show you how to use them properly.
How beginner-friendly are the classes?
Very. Essentials sessions are structured for complete beginners: slower pace, clear cues, smaller groups, and space to learn without pressure or being thrown straight into sparring.
What age is Kids & Family for?
Mixed ages — usually 6–14. Parents or guardians can join in so siblings and families can train together safely. We focus on movement, basics, confidence, and clear boundaries.
What’s your cancellation policy?
You can cancel or reschedule up to 24 hours before your booking. Evening sessions include a short buffer so changeovers are calmer and you’re not rushed in or out.
Are trials available?
Yes. We offer a Free Trial Class (1 group class) and a 2-Week Unlimited Intro. Trials apply to adult Boxing & Kickboxing Essentials and are a good way to find out if the studio and timetable feel right for you.
I’m ND, anxious, or returning from injury — is it ok?
Yes — this is exactly who we built the studio for. You can tell us (in the form or on arrival) what helps: clearer cues, a quieter spot, slower tempo, fewer partner drills. We adapt coaching so you feel safe and in control.
Can I bring a friend?
Yes. You can add a guest when you book or message us on WhatsApp or Instagram so we can hold them a space. Friends can usually join Free Trial classes too, as long as there is space on the day.
